How This Soft Summer Palette Was Made

An original screen reference, one shared dataset, and clear limits.

This site's 30 colors are an original editorial interpretation of a muted, cool-leaning palette. They are intended to help you try combinations, copy digital color codes and carry a small reference. They are not measurements of a person's coloring or an official standardized Soft Summer palette.

The terminology we use

We use common 12-season vocabulary. Soft Summer refers here to a muted, cool-leaning direction. The comparison guide uses Cool / True Summer for the cool-dominant category and Soft Autumn for a warm-leaning muted category. These definitions explain this site's usage; they do not certify compatibility with every analyst's system.

Practitioner context: Cate Linden on Soft Summer, Spicemarket Colour on True Summer, and Spicemarket Colour on Soft Autumn. Their descriptions informed the terminology only. We did not copy their swatch values, artwork, photos, article text or commercial color fans. No affiliation or endorsement is claimed.

How the reference colors were selected

We chose a small range of neutrals, blues, greens, pinks, purples and browns with a subdued overall appearance. Names such as Haze Blue and Plum Haze are labels for this dataset, not standardized textile or paint names. The selection includes differences in lightness so an outfit does not need to be a single flat tone.

No colorimetric threshold was used to certify seasonal membership. No physical drape, measured skin spectrum, image classifier or proprietary reference fan was used. The guiding choices are editorial; they should be assessed as examples, not a diagnostic model.

One source for the page and downloads

Each reference has a name, color family and six-digit HEX value. RGB channels are the three byte values encoded by that HEX value. For example, Haze Blue #8FAABD is rgb(143, 170, 189).

The cards, outfit preview, full phone PNG and A4 PDF all use the same 30-color dataset, version 1.0. Filtering changes which cards you see, while downloads retain the complete palette. The PDF uses RGB swatches rather than a calibrated printer profile.

What the colors cannot promise

Screens, ambient light, display modes, cameras, fabric texture, dyes, paper and printers affect appearance. Matching a code on screen does not guarantee a physical match. This website provides no personal diagnosis or professional color measurement. It has no selfie upload or automatic season prediction.

You are free to enjoy colors outside a named category. For a personal assessment, consider a practitioner who explains their method and uses controlled physical comparisons. The website does not recommend or book a service.
